A global BPO focusing on a diverse bouquet of financial, corporate and ICT services, our customer catered to a broad range of customers, from individuals to large corporations. With more than 20 offices spread across various parts of the globe, they were on a path of spiraling growth and revenues. Driven by a sharp focus on quality of service delivery and customer satisfaction, they were facing challenges in managing disparate and dispersed data, growing at a rapid pace. Integration was a major challenge, and the array of different backup and restore solutions needed to be tackled. By virtue of being in the financial services domain, data security and compliance were integral to daily operations.
Considering the volume of data, quantum of growth and diversity of platforms across multiple locations, Quadra proposed an integrated data protection solution using the Symantec Netbackup platform. With one of the largest pools of Symantec certified pre-sales and technical resources in the country, Quadra was well poised to leverage and deliver on the benefits of the solution. Using Netbackup and Netbackup Operations Manager, Quadra architected and deployed a flexible backup solution that would give them a single window view into the data protection status at any global location. With our deep experience in similar engagements, our services team provided comprehensive project management and deployment services, with minimal disruption to the existing backup, along with granular reporting to ensure that internal IT had complete visibility into the data protection status at all times.
Our expertise in working with multiple platforms across disparate hardware was crucial to the success of this project, and this enabled the implementation to go live on time and within budget. We demonstrated and documented critical operations such as backup and restore for the backup administrators, to ensure that they were at ease with the new solution. We also organized administrator training for internal IT, so as to familiarize them with management and maintenance tasks.
Our customer benefitted from centralized management of the entire backup and recovery environment, including real time monitoring, historical reporting, alert management and troubleshooting. With proven scalability, our solution provided massive headroom for growth without any major changes to the architecture. The percentage of successful backups was close to 95% - even with exploding data volumes, we ensured that shrinking backup windows were adhered to, resulting in increased IT administrator productivity. Given the fact that even a single instance of data loss would put their reputation and revenues under threat, we were able to provide a set of standardized operations, along with a cost effective, yet robust and scalable solution that provided stability and peace of mind to mission critical data.
