Solution-background
Solution Overview

A global provider of cloud energy trading, risk management and fuel management software for oil trading and marine industries, our customer had operations across the world, including UK, USA, UAE and India, with India being the global software delivery center. With some of the top global shipping companies as their customers, they were among the leaders in the industry, helping their customers to drive efficiency and revenue growth. One of their core business applications, which was a traditional thick client Windows application had to be delivered securely to end users. It was paramount that the performance not be impacted at any point in time, as this adversely impact their business performance. High availability and security were among their top business requirements, given the mission critical nature of this application. Additionally, they wanted to ensure that user provisioning and de-provisioning was simple and easy, while being completely secure with respect to control over data. To avoid hampering end user productivity, and to enhance the security profile, they needed single sign-on capabilities with their core directory services.

With the deployment of the secure application delivery solution, we removed all client-side dependencies. The only pre-requisite was availability of internet. Along with a hardware application accelerator and optimizer, we ensured that performance was always good, regardless of access mode or location. With the delivery center being based out of public cloud infrastructure, we could automatically scale compute and storage to keep pace with end user activity and demand, thus ensuring zero degradation in performance under any condition. We also ensured that there was tight integration with their directory services across on-premise and cloud, thereby meeting their requirements of single sign on. This greatly minimized end user disruptions in having to remember and work with multiple credentials. User logins were seamless and with certificate-based authentication, we could provide password less access to virtual apps. By planning the ability to choose a global datacenter that was closest to their end users, we could further optimize performance and reduce application latency. End users could either use an app or simply HTML5 to access their LoB applications. All trading reports and client data were now centrally managed, thus avoiding any data security concerns, while at the same time vastly improving reporting. The end user experience was greatly enhanced in terms of performance and ability to access anytime, anywhere.
