One of the oldest and most prominent business groups in India, with a turnover of more than USD 4 billion, and a workforce of close to 20,000, our customer was looking for an enterprise class messaging and collaboration solution that would enable their knowledge workers and senior management to be more productive, while working across the globe. The current infrastructure, though functional, did not provide the intuitive collaboration capabilities and rich end user interface that their knowledge workers demanded.
Post a comprehensive analysis of their business requirements, we recommended Microsoft Exchange as an ideal solution. Deploying email on the Microsoft platform would enable them meet their employee demands, and scale out, as well as add rich collaboration capability in the form of the associated Lync and SharePoint platforms. One among our mandates was to ensure a peaceful co-existence, as the existing solution would continue to function in tandem, as well as a seamless experience for transitioning users. Our award winning Microsoft services team worked to prepare a comprehensive approach paper, which documented their key business needs, along with an implementation architecture that also provided headroom for growth.
High availability was a cornerstone of the proposed architecture, as it involved the most critical users. Using the native DAG features of Exchange, we architected a cost effective solution that provided the desired level of availability without exceeding budget. Quadra's cross domain expertise came to the fore, and we ensured unhindered and efficient mail flow between existing Open source system and Exchange. Phase two of the deployment took the communication and collaboration to the next level, in the form of instant messaging, audio and video conferencing with Microsoft Lync. This provided for tight integration with the existing Exchange infrastructure, and set the platform for Unified Communications. With administrator skill transfer, backed up by remote and onsite support during the transition phase, we were able to ensure a seamless experience, both for IT as well as end users. Our Business Productivity Team also created training content in the form of videos for their executive management, which eased the transition to the new environment, and helped the end users to take full advantage of the rich suite of tools available to them.
By leveraging cross platform expertise, while at the same time being acutely conscious of customer business needs and budget constraints, we were able to deliver on yet another holistic customer experience that provided tangible RoI. Our end to end project management and service delivery capabilities ensured that we insulated the customer from the technology challenges of a complex migration, thus ensuring that they were focused on leveraging business value from the deployed solution.
